Jacqui grew up outside of Washington, D.C. and moved to New Orleans to attend Loyola University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies and Women’s Studies. During her undergraduate career, Jacqui studied abroad in Guatemala and Colombia. She has worked with several local non-profit organizations such as Proyecto Luis de Lión and Familias Unidas en Acción. Jacqui is first and foremost motivated by a pursuit of liberation and social justice for oppressed people.
After graduating from college, Jacqui worked at a non-profit organization in Mexico called Formación y Capacitación, which focused on immigrants’ rights and women’s reproductive rights. She returned to New Orleans to work as a Spanish teacher for a local childhood education program, Vámonos NOLA. In 2019, she embarked on a year-long trip throughout South America, where she worked on vineyards, taught English, learned to dance salsa, and much more. Jacqui is fluent in Spanish.
Recently back to the city, Jacqui is thrilled to be part of the team at Pelton + Balducci, helping immigrant families like her own live their American dream. As the receptionist of the office, Jacqui manages all of our daily communications to ensure helpful, friendly attention to our clients. While not at work, Jacqui enjoys cooking, painting, and hand making costumes for the wide variety of wonderful festivals that New Orleans has to offer.
