Originally from Colombia, Carlos moved to the United States four years ago. In fact, his own experience in moving from South America ignited his interest in immigration matters. Carlos attended the LSU Paralegal Studies Program and obtained his American Bar Association-recognized Paralegal Certificate from Louisiana State University. He also has a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration.
Carlos worked at the District Health Department in Bogota, Colombia. There, he was an intern and staff member of the Center for the Right to Health Care (PDS) where he supported the attorneys and worked with a multidisciplinary team of professionals to resolve legal complaints for the rightful access to medical care.
Currently, Carlos is enrolled in the Paralegal Course in Immigration Law from the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), increasing his knowledge of Humanitarian and Asylum issues, Family, Business Immigration, Adjustment of Status, Consular Processing, Removal and Relief, Naturalization and Citizenship. He is an AILA member paralegal. He is fluent in Spanish and has traveled extensively around the world.
